Exploring the desert world of Jedha in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor leads Cal Kestis to numerous ancient chambers and hidden secrets. One of the trickier environmental challenges encountered during the campaign is the door puzzle located within the Buried Refuge area. Resolving this mechanism requires clever manipulation of the environment using Force Pull and Force Push abilities to align heavy metal objects and unlock the sealed entry.
Reaching the Buried Refuge Mechanism
Before attempting to tackle the puzzle, players must progress through the main story quests on Jedha until the Buried Refuge becomes accessible. Upon entering the central chamber, Cal faces a massive sealed gateway flanked by mechanical pulleys and sliding blocks on separate tracks. Understanding how these mechanical components interact is the key to solving the puzzle quickly and progressing deeper into the shrine.
Manipulating the Metal Blocks
To begin opening the door, use Force Pull on the metal block situated on the right side of the room to draw it out along its track. Once extended, grab the nearby anchor cable and attach it to the wall device to hold the block securely in place. This opens up the clearance needed to maneuver the corresponding piece on the left side without collision.
Aligning the Locking Pins
With the right block held in position, turn your attention to the left side and use Force Pull on the second block. Pull this piece toward the center, allowing the locking mechanisms from both sides to align perfectly in front of the door. When executed properly, a brief cutscene or visual cue will confirm that the locking pins have engaged correctly, releasing the central barrier.
Securing Access to the Chamber
Once the blocks are aligned and secured, the heavy sealed door will finally slide open, revealing the path ahead into the inner chamber. Players can now freely walk inside to collect valuable story collectibles, lore echoes, and unique cosmetic rewards hidden within. Masterful use of Cal's abilities makes navigating these environmental hurdles both rewarding and seamless.
